Where are you, sunshine? Dylan, you will be thirteen come March 6th. This photo was taken at Jellystone Park in Pelahatchie, MS. in 2009. My how you have changed my sweet “Lil’ Man”. You’re growing up, not just in inches and quick, but in ways that I’m both sad and proud to see. Sad to see the baby side of you go. Proud to see the young man you’re becoming. When I was your age, I remember wanting to stay in my room all of the time and not play with my brother. And, I remember the fighting. You are sweet as gold and wear your heart on your sleeve. You might not like it, but you’d rather give that last cookie to your brothers than eat it yourself. I see you do it time and again. I think to avoid the chaos! Ha! Either way, when you do those little things, they see it. I hope you know they’ll remember those things. But, you need to know they’ll remember the not-so-good things, too. You’re smart. We’ve had the bullying talk. Go easy on them. Lord, I know how annoying they can be! But, they love and look up to you. Remember, you’re the oldest and didn’t have that. You’re a good son and big brother. So, let’s get out of that bedroom and off the Xbox this spring and summer. Let’s get some fresh air and go fishing. Momma wants to see the sunshine on your shoulders again. I love you big. Momma
